Forrester predicts a bug in AI-written code will cause a global outage in 2027

Research firm Forrester released its 2027 technology and security predictions on Oct. 21. It expects AI-assisted coding and patching to outpace teams' capacity to test, and forecasts that a bug or regression in AI-generated code will trigger an outage spanning several industries worldwide.
